Vicuna
Vicuna is world's
most expensive
fabric. Vicuna is
made from vicuna
llama which is rare
protected animal.
Vicunas are light
brown in colour,
with white patches
on their bellies and
the backs of their
legs, they have
long, slender legs
and necks and are
very skiddish.
Vicuna lives in
herds in on the
grasslands and
plains of the high
Andes in Peru,
Chile, Bolivia and
Argentina at the
altitude of 5000
meters. Each animal
producing only about
a pound of wool a
year.
Vicuna
is finest,
rarest natural fibre.
It is the
best of
woollen fabrics
available and is
upto four times or
more expensive than
cashmere because of
its rarity and its
luxurious
characteristics.
Vicuna wool has been
tagged as "the
fabric of the gods".
